Those who have gotten pregnant first month after miscarriage without getting a period?

I got a positive pregnany test on 31st, miscarried on June 4th at 5 weeks. Doctor told us it could take 4-6 weeks to get my period again and then we could try again. My periods are usually every 4 weeks like clockwork. For those who got pregnant immediately after a miscarriage, how long were your periods usually and how long did you wait to test (cause I know they said my period could be late, but I am definitely feeling some of the same things I felt the last time). Thanks!
